Youth ~ Grades 6 through 12

A variety of programs and activities are offered throughout each month. They are geared to the interests of the youth that are active in the program and the willingness and availability of adults to supervise the activities. Godsgood News is a monthly youth newsletter mailed or e-mailed to each youth actively involved in the youth program.

Worship

Praise God with church family at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

Youth Group

Activities, bible study, guest speakers, programs, prayer, discussion groups, etc. Meet on Sundays from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in the Teen Center.

Fishing

This group meets on various Saturday mornings to go fishing at local spots. Learn how to bait the hook and reel in your catch while fellowshipping with other youth and adult sponsors.

Local Service Projects

Opportunities for local service are planned every month. Adult mentors are teamed with youth to do various needed projects in the community. Projects could include yard work, painting, building, visiting, serving meals, raking leaves, etc.

Red Cross Club

This newly formed club is open to all youth in the community, grades 6-12. They meet in the Teen Center at First Christian Church on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 5-6:00 p.m. This group chooses a project and then decides how to carry out that project. The month of March they are focusing on the military.

  Mission Experiences

Youth will be invited to participate in several mission experiences throughout the year. These experiences may be day, overnight or weekend events and may include raising needed funds or items for a particular group or raising awareness for a group. (For example: Relay for Life, 30 Hour Famine, Box City, etc.)

Mission Trips

Youth will have the opportunity to be a part of a summer mission team. These teams would travel to a chosen location to serve those less fortunate. Mission projects and events are a huge part of the youth program.

Bible & Burgers

Middle High guys meet twice a month on Thursdays for discussion and fellowship. In the months of Jan. and Feb., they learned to turn a wooden pen on a mini lathe.

Girl's Gab

MH Girls meet at Givens most Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 to discuss social and faith issues while eating and laughing a lot!

Coffee Talk
